Hustle Hive Rangers

10 weeks of maps, trails and outdoor skills for ages 8–16.

Dates to be confirmed

Hustle Hive Rangers gets young people out into the countryside around Darlington, learning the skills to explore it confidently and safely. Each week builds on the last. By week 10 your Ranger will plan and lead their own route, with family invited to join the celebration at the finish.

What Rangers will learn

  • Route planning & map reading: map symbols, scale, grid references and using a compass

  • Rights of way: where you can go, where you shouldn't, and the Countryside Code

  • Nature detectives: animal tracks, signs and identification, plus a safe introduction to foraging (look and learn: nothing gets eaten unless a leader says it's safe)

  • First aid & emergencies: basic first aid, and what to do if things go wrong

  • Outdoor know-how: checking the weather, packing the right kit, and bushcraft basics

  • Teamwork & leadership: working together and taking turns to lead the way

How booking works

Dates are still to be confirmed. Courses start once 7 young people have signed up. Get in touch through our contact form and we'll let you know as soon as dates are set and your child's group is confirmed, along with how to set up payment. If a group doesn't fill, we'll hold your child's place for the next start date.

When you sign up, we'll ask about any medical needs, allergies and emergency contacts.
